The influence of Suzuki wrong fuel economy tests problem

My family visited the Mazda car dealer yesterday to take inspection of my husband's car and my car.

I like to visit there because we can wait to finish the inspection while drinking coffee and reading magazines.

Since various ideas are devised so that children do not get tired of the shop, my children can wait without boring.

They played with Origami and made cranes, rode a small car and moved around the dealer, read books and watched TV.

They were able to drink anything they want and eat snack.

This time, I was surprised that no Kei car was displayed in the dealer.

Kei car is a Japanese category of small vehicles.

Mazda was selling small vehicles which were OEM of Suzuki and my previous car was one of them.

The dealer displayed the Kei cars before.

But they removed them maybe because Suzuki admitted to improper fuel economy testing methods on 16 of its automobile models since 2010 in a statement released in May.

I am not familiar with cars, but I thought they are struggling with sales now.

Where is my key?

I walk to my 5-year-old daughter's nursery school with her every morning.

After I came back home from the nursery school yesterday morning, I noticed that my car key wasn't  where it should be.

I always put it above the shoe box in the entrance hall.

I thought I might have left it in the pocket of my jacket, but I hadn't.

I thought my husband must have taken my key with his.

I called him, he had left home 20 minutes earlier than me.

Fortunately, he answered my call.

"Do you happen to have my car key?"

"What? Really? Wait a minute. I'll call you back."

He called me back soon after.

"You're right. I have yours."

"Oh my goodness!"

"You can use the spare key."

"But you washed my spare key with the laundry before, right? It doesn't work!"

My car key has an "advanced key less entry & start system" function.

I could open the car door only by pushing the small button on the door without taking the key out of my bag, and I can start the engine only by stepping on the brake and pushing the start button.

Since the spare key was broken, I knew the normal key which needed to be inserted and turned was inside the key cover, but I had no idea how to start an engine.

I could open the door of the car using the normal key which I took out from the cover.

I tried to look for the hole where I can insert the key, but there wasn't any.

"OK. I will bring your key right now. You will be late for work today!"

"Really? But I am going to try to find how to start the engine when the battery in the key is dead. I will call you back."

I hung up the phone and looked for how to start the engine in the manual.

After a while, I found it.

I needed to set the key in the cover and step on the brake, then push the start button.

After the green lamp on the start button starts blinking, press the button with the key in upright position.

"I did it!"

The engine started.

I called my husband in a hurry.

He had already left his office, so we met up halfway at the parking area of the convenience store to receive my key.

Of course I was late for my work.

The latest convenience feature can be a difficult function when it is broken.

For example, the car automatic operating system is unacceptable for me.

If its controlling system brakes, I don't want to guess what might happen.

A dilemma on buying it now

My family visited a car dealer last Saturday to take the legal inspection of my husband's car and take a 6-month inspection of my car.

Both of us have to drive our own way going to the office everyday, that's why we need to have each of our car.

My car had some problem with it's windows.

After opening both the driver and the passenger side, there are times that it doesn't close.

So I told a staff about it and asked to find the reason.

While waiting, I found a nice red car among the display.

When I was trying to ride on it, the salesperson came to me and said,

"Why don't you try to drive it?"

He and I have a long relationship for more than 10 years because my father and sister are also his customer.

He knows about  us very well and he is the best salesperson as far as I know.

My husband and I had a drive test with that car.

He discussed to us the estimated calculation of the cost of the said car.

Finally, we decided to purchase the new car after a long considering.

I was hesitant at first whether I buy it or not because I was considering the price, but I think it's the right time for me to replace my old car which I have driven for 9 long years.

Furthermore, my car needed to fix its window buttons and we had to pay for it.


I was surprised that our children were playing without boring while we were talking for about 7 hours!

This is because various ideas are devised so that children do not get tired of the shop.

For example, the drinks are free and we can drink all we want.

Children can get snacks.

There is a little jungle-gym and slide in the store.

My children's favorite is a small car.

They can ride it inside the store.

They can watch anime on TV,  they can read comics, they can play with toys.
