We couldn't speak in English in Guam!

We came back from Guam yesterday.

We enjoyed staying in Guam very much.

Especially the sea was soooo beautiful!

I was so impressed with the beautiful white sandy beach and its transparent waters.

My 4-year-old daughter and I walked in the shallows and played in the sand.

My 5-year-old son and my husband swam in the sea and found tropical fishes.

He caught pretty crablets!

Since he was going to take them to the hotel, I told him to release them.

I am sure that they will remember about Guam when they grow up.

Since I study English every day, I wanted to speak in English in Guam.

But it's fortunate that most of the people who work at hotel, restaurant and other sightseeing spots could speak in Japanese!

They talked to us in Japanese, so if I want to speak in English, I needed to talk to them in English before they talked to us in Japanese.

And I felt that their way of speaking English was really fast!

I almost couldn't catch what they announce in the airplane though I study English every day.

I strongly believe that I have to exert more effort with my English studies.

I will write another topic about our family trip to Guam tomrrow.

Departure

Finally we will leave for Guam tonight.

My children were so excited last night, so I told them to go to bed early.

In fact, I feel both anxious than expecting so many things now.

Will they be able to bear the flight for three hours and thirty minutes?

We will arrive at Guam at midnight, so I am worried that they would be so sleepy and get cranky.

In particular, my 5-year-old son often goes to the place where he wants to go alone without saying anything during shopping.

I worry whether or not he will get lost, so I reminded him not to go anywhere by himself or not to depart from us.

But all of my worries will surely turn out into a funny story someday!

I hope that our travel will be safe and fun, and especially I want them to feel many things from this oppotunity.

I hope that they will not forget how they feel during this trip and they will cherish the good memories we have together on this journey.

* I will restart  my blog after I come back(^_^).

Countdown!

December of this year is a very fun month for my children.

They have already written a letter of their hope for Christmas presents to Santa Claus.

Of course they are looking forward to coming Christmas.

But, they are looking forward to another big event of my family.

My 5-year-old son told me, "Nursery, nursery, then Guam, right?"

I answered "That's right!".

We will go to Guam from tomorrow!

This is their first overseas trip.

I would like to let them have a experience to visit a different country when they are little children.

So they have counted down everyday.

My 4-year-old daughter mimicked him, "Nursery, nursery, then Guam!"

Though I didn't tell anyone about our trip except only a few friends and my parents, but teachers of nursery school know about it because my children told them every day!

I was asked by a teacher who came to the nursery for the first time on behalf of my son's class teacher yesterday, "When will you go to Guam? Have a nice trip!"

I was surprised that she knew about our trip, but I could easily imagine soon that my son told her about it.

Our family's events are told by my children, so we are not able to hide something.

And I sincerely hope they will not catch a cold or get hurt before our travel.

I made New Year's Cards!

I made new year's cards using computer yesterday.

According to oriental zodiac, next year is the year of the sheep.

When we make a draft of the New Year's card, we usually use the illustrations of the zodiac of the year or lucky items like Mt.Fuji, pine, bamboo, plum, seven deities of good luck, and so on.

I will write comments to my relatives, friends, and people to whom I am indebted.

Nowadays, we usually contact our friends through email, but I think that the greetings with the New Year's card are indispensable.

Japanese new year's postcards have lottery numbers at bottom of them, and the lottery is held during January every year.

Prizes for the next year are 10,000 yen for the first prizelocal specialties packages for the second prize, stamp sheets for the third prize.

I look forward to it every year!

Having been surprised at the Electone school

My 5-year-old son goes to the YAMAHA music school to learn how to play the Electone every Saturday morning.

*Electone : It is the trademark used for electronic organs produced by YAMAHA corporation.

Once I also had been a student of the music school more than 30 years.

But I quitted it 2 years ago because I began to my work and I became busy.

So I would like my children to learn how to play the Electone instead of me.

I usually take him to the school and my husband takes care of my 4-years-old daughter at home.

But since he went to bed at 4am yesterday because he had an end-of-year party with his coworkers, I guessed he would not be able to wake up early.

So I also took my daughter to the music school yesterday.

However, it was decided who sat where every time and the next seat of us was sat by the other mother and child.

So she needed to sit down on a seat away from us.

I was worried that she would want to sit down next to us, but she said "OK!"

I handed her a notebook, colored pencils, and colored pens for drawing pictures.

The lesson is for one hour.

During his lesson, she didn't talk and wander around, she kept quiet and was absorbed drawing pictures.

The teacher suddenly said, "Oh, it began to snow!"

It was the first time in this year to see the snow, so we were excited.

I looked at her, she was pop-eyed with surprise, but she still kept quiet.

In the latter half of lessons, I heard her saying , " Mom, I'm tired."

The other mother who sat down next to her told her, "You must be tired because you were painting pictures all the time. But you could kept quiet. Good job!"

She was glad to hear that.

I handed her seals which I had, so she started playing them again.

I was impressed by her attitude so much.

But after they finished the lessons, she was still absorbed playing the seals.

She wouldn't stop it soon!

Hide-And-Seek

My 5-year-old son asked me "Why don't you play hide-and-seek, mom?"

I answered "OK!"

He told me "Then you hide first!"

But my 4-year-old daughter told us "No! I will go with mom!"

I told her "No! If you come with me, I will not be able to hide."

She said, "But I am scared if you are not with me.."

There was a reason why she said that.

We also played hide-and-seek three days ago.

When I was it, I hid behind the stroller at the entrance hall.

Since there was very dark, they couldn't find me.

They looked for all rooms of the first floor saying "Where is mom? Moooooom!"

I found it very funny that I almost burst out with laughter.

My son told her sister, "Mom might go upstairs, let's go to seek her!"

After I checked they went to the second floor, I changed my hiding place into the kitchen.

Because they were in the living room next to the kitchen when I was going to hide, I thought they thought it was impossible for me to hide in the kitchen.

Since they couldn't find me after they searched all dark rooms of second floor, they were apparently growing nervous.

I heard my daughter's voice that she was about to cry with the uneasiness, "Where are you mom?"

They came down to the first floor saying, "Mom, come out!"

I thought this was the end of the game, I said "I'm here!"

They run to me saying "I found you!"

It was funny that they didn't wonder why I was in the kitchen and they only seemed relieved to find me.

I hid in simple place where they could find me easily yesterday!

By the way, we call it "oni (ogre)" in Japanese↓.

Where is Guam?

A world map is put on the wall of the living room in my house.

Because I love traveling.

It's fun for me to look at the places where I have traveled on the map.

And my 5-year-old son is interested in national flags.

He already rememberes some flags.

I hope he remembers flags, the way he remembers "Youkai"characters of  "Youkai Watch"(Japanese anime for children).

By the way, my family is going to Guam next Wednesday.

This is our first trip abroad.

I would like to go abroad with my children during the cheap season before he enters the elementary school.

I asked my son, "Do you know where Guam is in the map?"

Since he didn't know, I taught him to the place.

He told me "Guam is next to Mexico!"

"..... Why? It's very far from Guam, isn't it?"

He said, "Because Mexico is on the right side of Guam. Oh, Philippine is also near Guam!"

That's sure, Guam is next to Mexico and near Philippine if it is only the map.

It was funny that He doesn't have a sense of distance yet.

We enjoyed the small world trip on the map.

I bought the map at the 100-yen shop.

I think this 100 yen is very valuable, enjoyable and useful for us!
