A Beautiful Sunset

I went to my 5-year-old daughter's nursery school yesterday morning for the parents day.

We enjoyed making a Christmas tree using a colored paper together.

After that, we went outdoors and I took part in an interclass relay race.

Some fathers and mothers ran with children, it was exciting!

When the parents day ended, a boy who is my daughter's classmate started crying.

He got sad when he looked at his parents going home.

My daughter didn't cry, but she continued to wave her hands until I disappeared completely from view.

I went to my 6-year-old son's elementary school with him for a conference with his teacher yesterday afternoon.

Since I participated in two events, I was a little tired.

But since my children wanted to play at the park, we went there in the evening.

We came home around 4:30pm.

We could see the beautiful mackerel sky!

"Look! What a beautiful Urokogumo (cirrocumulus)! It is a type of cloud which can be seen in autumn."

"How beautiful!"

My children were so glad to see it.

I felt healed while looking at it.

I've heard that the day after seeing cirrocumulus, it will be rainy.

The weather forecast said that today will be a rainy day around here.

The great disaster due to torrential rains

I wrote about the typhoon in my blog two days ago. → http://a-o-j-m.blogspot.jp/2015/09/school-is-closed.html

Fortunately we had no damage because of it.

Heavy rain due to an autumnal rain front and the typhoon broke a levee of the Kinugawa river in Ibaraki prefecture on Thursday.

A lot of town were flooded, and many people have evacuated even now.

When I watched the series of damages on TV news, I recalled a similar great disaster which happened 15 years ago.

It is so called "Tokai heavy rain disaster".

September 11, 2005.

It was the last day of my trip to Hokkaido with my friend.

It was sunny at Chitose airport.

When the airplane landed at Nagoya airport, we noticed that it rained heavily.

The airport was already closed, and flights after us had been all canceled.

All public transportation were suspended.

Fortunately my friend had parked her car at the airport, we could go to her house.

Even the large national highway was flooded.

She drove her car at the center of the road, but the rain water rushed into the car like a wave when a big truck passed though next to us.

A car was shaken each time.

It was scary.

I stayed at her house for a night and I went to my office next day.

My boss told me that I may go home.

I left our office with my colleague by car at 1pm, and came home 7pm.

It took about 6 hours because of the terrible traffic jam and dotted broken cars on the road due to the inundation though it usually takes about 50 minutes by car.

Our company's head office building was flooded above the floor level, we have suffered enormous damage.

I don't think the natural disaster is someone else's problem.

It could happen to us.

My thought are with everyone who has been affected by this disaster.

Beautiful Dawn

After my colleague quitted her job, we became busier as we expected.

I have been depressed recently because I was criticized from the customer about our company's  system and I also received a complaint about another staff.

I bought a book about how to manage stress, but reading this book made me more tired and stressful.

I also felt a headache and tiredness, so I thought I need to take a rest more.

Since I felt lack of sleep, I didn't take an online English conversation lesson in early morning to sleep more.

I usually get up at 4am, but recently I got up at 5:30am.

It could improve my psychosomatic bad condition.

I gradually try to get up early, I got up at 4:30am this morning after five days.

When I went to upstairs to hang our laundry, I could see a beautiful dawn.

I was also able to see a crescent moon and Venus in the purple sky.

Eastern sky had gradually becoming bright rainbow colors.

I was deeply impressed with such a beautiful view.

I was mesmerized for a while.

I felt that my trouble is not a big deal.

The power of nature cheered me up.

The damage of the typhoon

There was a phone call from mother-in-law on Wednesday night.

My husband sent his parents grapes for summer gift before, so she thanked us for it.

Then I was so surprised to hear what she told me.

A persimmon tree which was in the garden of their house was fallen down by the strong wind of the typhoon last Tuesday.

They live in Kyushu and the typhoon hit there squarely.

The tree leans against their house, so she said she has to cut down it.

Their house is very old, so I was relieved that the damage of the typhoon was only one.

The power of nature is scary.

I think that we need to become more modest against nature.

The typhoon had gone

My 6-year-old son woke up at 6:15am yesterday morning.

It was rare because he always gets up at 7am.

I knew why he woke up early.

Because a big typhoon was approaching Japan.

If a storm warning is issued in our city, school would be closed.

I told him, "Fortunately, the storm warning has not been issued."

"Really? Oh no! I don't want to go to school today!"

Since he was taking it for granted that he would not have to go to school, he got mad.

I decided to leave him alone for a while.

After a while, he started drawing pictures ( he loves drawing very much ).

And he went to school as usual.

It is only children to be glad that a typhoon comes because they don't have to go to school if the storm warning is issued.

Especially my children have not experienced the threat of natural yet.

Fortunately, we have no damage by this typhoon.

I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the people affected by this typhoon.
