When I am busy

I canceled today's online English school because I needed to prepare today's meeting of our company.

I think I am in the very busy term now.

I wear many hats same as other mothers.

I am a mother of my two little children, I need to take care of them.

I am also my husband's wife, we need to help each other.

I am also a housewife, I need to do housework.

I am also a part time job worker, I need to work doing my best.

I am a member of PTA of my children's nursery school, I need to attend meetings, make documents, and attend to help children's events.

I am a resident of our town, I need to attend our town's activities.

I think it is happy to be busy.

Because that means I am required by the other people.

I tend to be irritated when I am busy.

But I try to think by this way.

I have still enough stamina to be able to keep healthy.

The day when I will not be able to do that I want to do will surely come someday when I will get older.

I would like to do my best while I can do.

An injection again?

I needed to take my children to the hospital to get a flu shot again yesterday.

I wrote the first story last month.

It was so difficult to take my 4-year-old daughter.

http://a-o-j-m.blogspot.jp/2014/10/i-dislike-injection.html

So this time, I didn't tell her about the injection until we went to the hospital.

Before we left home, she asked me " Where are we going?"

I answered "Hospital."

She seemed to guess about the injection, she turned pale and said, "No! I don't like to go!"

I told her " But you need to go!"

I carried her , she acted violently, but I as able to put her on the car.

Since she wouldn't get off when we arrived the hospital, I had to drag her down form the car.

While we were waiting, I told her,

"You were crying while waiting last time, but this time you are not crying! Wow! You became stronger than before!"

I continued, "You can do it. When you get an injection, why don't you close your eyes? I will be hugging you while you are having the vaccine, so don't worry!"

She told me " Can I do that?  I am scared."

But she closed her eyes and put up with it!

She didn't cry!

The doctor and nurses praised her.

She was stunned for a while but she became her usual self afterwards.

As for my 5-year-old son,  he is good at having a shot recently.

He never cries!

They got at the hospital as a reward for putting up with the injection!

My son got the "Youkai Watch" tissue because he likes it very much.

It is now very popular among the children.

Happy Wednesday! ~Giving myself a reward for working hard~

I have a day off every Wednesday.

Wednesday is only the day which I can stay at home alone because my husband goes to work and my children go to the nursery school.

So I look forward to coming Wednesday.

I usually spend the day to do the housework and study for my job so actually I am not completely free on Wednesday.

But I like Wednesday.

I went shopping to the supermarket yesterday.

I usually go shopping on Wednesday and Sunday.

I go with my children on Sunday but I can go alone on Wednesday.

To go shopping alone makes me want to give a gift for myself.

My "gift" is usually SWEETS!

I found these sweets stuffs at the supermarket.

I love this chocolate pie very much!

Both of them are written as "limited time offer" in Japanese.

I often give way to temptation of "limited time offer".

Of course I bought both of them, and I enjoyed the chocolate time with a cup of coffee alone.

I can monopolize chocolate only on Wednesday.

I spent a happiness time.

My children also enjoyed "Pocky"(Sweets under the photo) after they came back from the nursery school.

The good old photos which can't be thrown away

DdSince most of the customers of my work are old people(in their 70's or 80's), I often have opportunities to talk with them.

I noticed one thing yesterday through our conversation.

When they talk about photos, they tend to say that they don't want to keep their own photos in any photo albums because their families will not be able to move on when they pass away.

One of my co-worker told her experience to me.

When her mother passed away, she hesitated to throw her mother's photos because she felt those photos as the nostalgic and precious memories of her mother.

Eventually she couldn't throw those photos and she keeps the pile of albums of her even now.

She told me that she keeps her own photos in a CD for it not to take many space.

I felt sad to hear her and their story.

Recently I took photos of my children, but I have few opportunities to have my own photos taken.

But I have many old photos which my mother took.

Those photos will be thrown away by me someday.

I tried to imagine my feeling of the day that I get older and I decide to throw my precious memories away.

I still feel sad now when I think about it, but I guess I may be able to feel relieved like after I finish cleaning my room someday.

One of our customer who is in his 80's told us laughing yesterday, "I started putting my affairs in order. I have thrown most of my photos!"

That was a story that makes me think.

The Sweet Potato Party!

Our family held "A Sweet Potato Party" at home yesterday.

I steamed the cut potatoes by the rice cooker.
(I think that sweet potatoes become sweeter when they are steamed using the rice cooker.)

And I baked them with butter until they turned slightly brown on the hotplate.

At last, I sprinkled a little salt on them and ate them.

These were SO YUMMY!!

The vegetables during this season are very rich in taste therefore simple seasoning brings out the taste of the vegetables.

I was so surprised because my children, who usually won't eat vegetables so much, ate them energetically!

They were so yummy that my husband told me that he wanted to try the other vegetables.

He prepared green peppers, carrots, potatoes, and wieners and baked them with butter.

These are also very YUMMY!

We couldn't stop eating yummy autumn food!

I was going to eat a sweet potato as a snack, so we started the party at 3:30pm.

But they were so yummy that we decided to have them for dinner.

The delicious and fun party lasted until 6:00pm.

Japanese conscience ~ the unmanned sale stand~

My neighbor's family sometimes opens the unmanned fruits and vegetables sale stand.

They sell fresh fruits and vegetables in the house's garage near the nursery school where my children go everyday.

I noticed that they opened it yesterday, so I bought a bag of persimmons ( there are 7 persimmons in it), a Chinese cabbage, two turnips, and a sweet potato.

Farmers sell the imperfect vegetables which can't sell on the market at unmanned store stands.

They look bad or are too big, but they taste as good as those sold on the market.
A Chinese cabbage, two turnips, and a sweet potato were only 100 yen each.

And the seven persimmons were only 200 yen.

I was so surprised that they were very cheap!

And look at the sweet potato in the photo.

How big it is!

I am planning to do the "Sweet potato party" using it with my family.

I paid 500 yen into an unattended box.

Since the clerk was not there, if I didn't pay for them, our neighbor's family would not notice it.

But we pay for them even if nobody is there, and the box was merely put there, but nobody stole it.

If it were stolen by somebody, they could not prevent it.

I mean, an unmanned sale stand can't be opened and maintained by anyone without our clean conscience.

That is, everyone has a clean conscience not to steal from others.

The reason why my children like this hair salon

We went to the family hair salon to have my husband and daughter's hair cut yesterday(My 5-year-old son didn't want to have his hair cut).

This salon has three divisions, for men, women, and kids.

I usually go to my favorite hair salon, so I have not had my hair cut it this salon, but my husband and children always have their hair cut there.

Especially, the place for kids has been devised well not to let them get tired.

First, the bright colors are used in the kid's place.

Second, when the children dislike to have their hair cut, they can have their hair cut while their father or mother is holding the child in his/her arms.

I used to do it this way when my children were very little.

Third, children can watch their favorite animation DVD while having their hair cut.

This is one of the reasons they don't dislike getting their hair cut there.

But the hairdressers cut customer's hair very quickly, so they finish cutting while children get absorbed in DVD.

Actually, my 4-year-old daughter watched "Youkai Watch"(This anime is very popular among the little children in Japan) while having her hair cut.

But as the hairdresser finished cutting too quickly, she had to finish watching it.

She got angry and said " I want to watch it more!".

Last way, the hairdresser gave them snacks after they finished having their hair cut.

This is another reason they don't dislike to visit here.

My children always look forward to getting the snacks.

My son was waiting for us at the kid's room.

This room is for waiting for someone or for the orders, while playing.

There is a slide and DVD, so I always wait for my husband while letting my children play here.

They also get absorbed in movies here, so it is hard for me to take them home from here.

I think that many mothers have with haircuts of their children.

But in our family's case, thanks to this hair salon, we don't have any problems with their hair cut now.

The lunch boxes for my children's field trip

My children went on the nursery school's field trip to the park near my house yesterday.

I need to make their "bento"(the lunch boxes).

I usualyy make my lunch box when I work (I wrote about this in past post→http://a-o-j-m.blogspot.jp/2014/10/today-lunchbox.html).

But to make lunch boxes for my children need more time because I have to consider their tastes, the hues that seems to be delicious,  amount of food that they can eat and so on.

I also needed to make breakfast and dinner, do the laundry in the early morning.

I was so busy that I wasn't able to attend my English class.

I spent my time doing the householdchores.

These are their "bento".

The pink one is for my 4-year-old daughter, and the yellow green one is for my 5-year-old son.

To tell the truth, I didn't think these "bento" were good.

These were too normal and especially my daughter's "bento" didn't look delicious.

(She doesn't like tomato, so I could not put "red" food any more.)

After we came back home, they told me that they ate all of "bento" and these were delicious.

But my daughter told me,

"... In fact, it was not very yummy. My friend's "bento" looked more delicious."

I really thought that she will tell me that!

Her friend's "bento" was  made by her mother's great devotion.

According to her, it was so fancy that it has sausages cut into the shape of octopuse or cartoon character-shaped seaweed on rice.

This is the image of such kinds of "bento"→http://cookpad.com/recipe/2858383

I am not good at cooking, and first of all, I don't have much time and energy to make such kind of "bento".

I had mixed emotions.

I want to do what you wish but I can't do.
