The 9th Wedding Anniversary

Last Friday was our 9th wedding anniversary, but we completely forgot about it.

We made dinner together for our celebration.

The steamed rice with bamboo shoots which I made was terrific!

The steamed mussels cooked with butter and white wine which my husband was fantastic!

It was a souvenir from Spain from my husband's boss.

When I ate it, I felt like traveling to Spain!

I was really happy having a wonderful dinner with my family.

About the Kumamoto Earthquake.

Fortunately, I called my parents in law who live in Kyushu and confirmed that they were OK.

My heart aches for the earthquake victims suffering and fear.

I really hesitated whether I would write my daily events in such a serious situation.

Big earthquakes have occurred frequently.

They must be scared and at a loss.

I read a news article that the stricken area is in a chaotic state.

People can't find information where they can recieve relief supplies.

I wonder what I can do for them.

Tomorrow it might be me.

I am really scared.

I only hope that the damage from aftershocks will not make things worse.

  1. Hello Kumi-san,

I am glad that your relations are safe. Your anniversary meal sounded delicious. You and your husband sound like excellent cooks. I don't eat mushrooms very often and never any as impressive sounding as the ones you mentioned.

On an entirely unrelated topic I follow a woman on G+ called Yuka Kinoshita, I listen to her talk for Japanese language practice (she often does really long several hour live videos where she eats and talks). She I think must be famous for eating lots of things and not getting fat, as far as I am able to determine. But the reason I mention this is that one of the things she did was eat the entire doughnut collection from Mister Donut!

I don't know the Japanese word for glutton but I am sure then when I find out it will be correct to say that the lady qualifies :)

I am not sure of the ladies health but she seems able to eat anything and not put weight on. She talks a lot so I find it useful to listen to her but I can't say I approve of her damaging her body with so much junk food. Once in a while is fine. She however eats like this all the time it would seem. I had heard that the Japanese are highly susceptible to diabetes if they eat too many sweet things but I am not certain of this.

Here is a list of some of the other issues in the rest of the post:

Reason: More natural and less repetitive.

    1. Hello Terry.
      I resumed writing my blog.
Thank you for correcting my blog.
      Mister Donuts looked delicious!
Yes, a lot of Japanese are suffered from diabetes.
My grandfather and grandmother died of diabetes.
We need to be careful not to eat sweets too much, but I sometimes can't stop eating chocolate to reduce my stress!
      Thank you so much!
