I wish you all the best in the coming new year.

My husband and I finished cleaning our house yesterday!

We started cleaning at 8:30am and finished 5:00pm.

It took almost all day long but our house became much cleaner than 2 days ago!

I have studied English for this year.

Could I improve my English?

Certainly my TOEIC score was increased but it does not satsify me yet and I need to exert more effort at learning and improving my English skills.

I am not that confident the way I constructed my sentences each time I speak out my thoughts and ideas.

I would like to express my feeling in English "FLUENTLY".

I need to practise more.

I will keep studying English next year to make my  dream come true!

I am grateful to all of you who read my blog and posts.

I'll encourage myself more to make more entries of blogs here as my motivation to keep on writing.

I would be happy that you will visit my blog again.

I wish you all the best in the coming new year!

( I will visit my husband's parents home for New Year vacation. I will restart after I come back.)

Eat all you can Japanese food!

We did our office year end cleaning yesterday morning.

I worked so hard though I have not finished cleaning our house yet.

After we finished, we had a "Bounenkai"(the year-end party. We enjoy lunch or dinner together to share and shake off the hardships we experienced during the past year, and to prepare for the coming year with renewed resolve.).

Fortunately, it's on our boss every year.

The lunch was eat all you can Japanese food!!!

We could eat Sushi, Tenpura, and Syabusyabu!!!

(These are mere images, not something we ate yesterday.)

Syabusyabu

Sushi

Tenpura

It was yummy for eat all you can.

We ate a lot!

It was funny that all of my colleagues tried not to leave anything on our plate because we are all housewives and have children!

We enjoyed talking and having lunch very much.

Preparation for welcoming the New Year

I went to my son's music school with him, and we had a Christamas party yesterday morning.

The students played their favorite song one by one.

My 5-year-old son played "Youkai watch" using Electone in front of other students and mothers.

He made mistakes a few times but he played very well.

We cleaned our room in the evening.

I cleaned a goldfish aquarium with my 4-year-old daughter.

She likes helping me, but she always wants to do the same thing with me.

So I did what I wanted her to do, then she imitated what I was doing.

It needs a knack to make her do something.

Since it was sunny yesterday, I cleaned the entrance and the shoerack.

I displayed a New Year's holiday decoration on the door handle.

We also need to clean living room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet, and Japanese tatami room.

I mean, we have not finished cleaning whole house yet!

Amazake ~ sweet drink made from fermented rice ~

My mother in low sent us "Amazake" which was made by her last week.

It is a sweet drink made from fermented rice.

It includes a kanji of "sake"(alcohol) in Japanese letters, but it is not classified as alcohol ( though it includes just a little alcohol).

"Amazake" is very nutritious.

Because its nutrient composition is almost same with intravenous feeding, so the "Amazake" is called "drip to drink".

And it also includes many vitamins, so it is good for keeping beauty.

When I was a pregnant, I had a craving for sweets.

So I could satisfy my desire with drinking "Amazake" instead of eating chocolate.

Furthermore, it warms us.

"Amazake" is my best winter drink.

My mission of becoming Santa was over

My children woke up earlier than I expected yesterday.

They came to the living room holding Christmas presents from Santa in their arms.

At first they looked sleepy, but after they opened their presents, their faces were filled with big smiles

My 5-year-old son got a robot of hero series like Power Ranger.

He got the left one this time.

These three can be united like the photo below.

Additionally, they become trains after they break up because the theme of this hero series is train.

My 4-year-old daughter got the costume of Elsa from Frozen.

She was so glad and changed her clothes immediately.

She initiated the last part of "Let It Go".

She was so glad and blushed a little to see her own figure of the queen.

Her gesture was so funny and cute.

My mission of becoming Santa was over.

That was hard, but their smile made me very happy!

Merry Christmas! ~ My son can't wait for coming Santa ~

My 5-year-old son told me before he went to the nursery school yesterday, "Please pick us up as late as possible today!"

I asked him why.

He said, "Because the night will come sooner."

He seemed that he couldn't wait for coming Santa!

Since I had a day off yesterday, I went last minute shopping at the supermarcket.

I could feel Christmas season there, I could hear Christmas songs, Christmas cakes were being sold at the special event space.

I was so excitied that I bought presents for my children as their mother ( I mean, not from Santa ).

After I picked them up from the nursery, we went to the cake shop to buy Christmas cake.

The shop was so crowded and we enjoyed choosing our favorite cakes.

( We chose four slices of cake because a whole cake is too much for us.)

On our way home, I got a email from my husband and it said that he would arrive at the station near my house about 5pm.

He always comes back home late ( he always comes back after we go to bed), so we were glad to hear that and we decided to go to the station to pick him up.

We enjoyed Christmas dinner!

I made clam chowder and prepared some vegetables.

In fact, I am not good at cooking, so I bought Christmas Chickens at the supermarket.

It was yummy!

And we enjoyed cakes!

I gave them Christmas boots for them.

Some snacks are in them and these are sold at supermarkets in the Chrismas season.

While eating, my son told me many times, "Let's take a bath and go to bed!"

I asked him, "You can't wait for Santa, right?"

He said "Yeah, I want to sleep as soon as possible!"

It was so fuuny because he usually never says like this.

After taking a bath, they put their socks near their pillows.

But they were so excited that they couldn't go to sleep easily.

Since I went to sleep earlier than them, I didn't know when they fell asleep.

Since I woke up at 11pm, so I placed Christmas presents near their pillows so as not to wake them.

Then my son woke up about 1am and noticed the present.

He woke me up and said with a smile, "Santa has already come! Can I wake up?"

I told him, "No way! It is still midnight now! Please sleep again!"

He got angry with me and woke his father and said the same thing again.

He seemed not to fall asleep again, but he was tired and ended up sleeping after a while.

He will not be able to wake up early this morning though he wants to play with his present of the toy!

I Love Deep-fried Oysters!

It was a national holiday (the Emperor's Birthday) yesterday, so my children and I went to my parents house to help in making their New Year's greeting cards.

We usually make them using the computer, but my parents can't do it though they have computers ( they can only search on the internet ).

I made two kinds of cards and printed them.

After I finished, we went to my favorite Japanese restaurant.

Fortunately it was not so crowded, so we were showed to our table soon.

Our table was on "tatami" mats (Tatami is a traditional straw mat).

When we eat out with little children,  I will be glad if we are showed to tatami's space because children can lie down on tatami.

I ordered deep-fried oysters set meal.

As for the oyster, winter is in season.

It was so yummy!

My children ordered kid's lunch.

Children who ordered it can choose a present.

The presents were gorgeous!

My 5-year-old son chose a toy, and my 4-year-old daughter chose Elsa's notebook and pencil set.

They were very glad to get them!

I am ready for becoming Santa!

I went to the convenience store near my house on my way home to receive a package after I finished working yesterday.

It was a Christmas present for my son.

I ordered their presents on the internet because I couldn't find those of their hopes at the store near my house.

Since my children always go to the entrance and say hello to the delivery person when home delivery service comes home, I guessed that especially my son would notice what it is if I ordered a present for him to send to our house.

That's why I used the service of the convenience store receipt of the Amazon.

I came back home and I hid it not to be found by them, and I went to the nursery school to pick them up.

While I was reading a book for my children after we finished dinner, the delivery service rang the bell of my house.

I guessed that it was the delivery of my daughter's Christamas present.

(Since the present for my daughter is small thing, I guessed that they would not notice that this is a Christmas present, so I used the home delivery service.)

Just as I expected, they came with me and said hello to the delivery person, but fortunately, they didn't show any interest to the package.

I restarted reading a book for them as if nothing had happened.

I finished wrapping their presents, and I am waiting for becoming Santa!

In our family's case, children put their socks near their pillows.

Santa will put their presents on the socks while they are sleeping.

I think this way is the most popular in Japan.

I must place the present not to wake them up!

I am looking forward to seeing my children happy.

When I was a child, I was so glad to find a present beside my pillow after I woke up.

Their happiness is my happiness.

A day when family spent at separate locations

I worked yesterday.

And my husband visited his brother last Saturday and Sunday. It takes 4 hour drive to reach his house.

So I asked my parents to come to our home and take care of them.

They asked their grandparents to take them to the theater to watch the movie of "Youkai Watch".

It is very popular among Japanese children and now it is called as a social phenomenon.

The movie had just released on last Saturday, so I guessed they had better reserve their seats.

Before I left home, I booked their seats on the website.

After I finished working, we went to the conveyor belt sushi bar.

My husband called me that he could go with us, so all of us met there.

My parents told me,"We are glad that you booked our seats. If you didn't, we could not watch the movie because it was so crowded! Many people were making a line to buy tickets"

My children enjoyed it so much and they could get "Darknyan-medal" as a limited gift for 5 million attendances!

My husband bought souvenirs for us.

Very long carrot!

I had slept until 6:00 after a long interval

When I woke up and saw the clock, it was already past 6:00am.

I always get up at 4:00am to do housework and study English, but I had overslept in this morning because a battery of my alarm clock was dead.

I thought that it was good that I canceled  today's 6:30am online English lesson last night.

Before I went to bed last night, I felt worn out and I was so pessimistic about everything.

At such time, I always sleep longer.

By doing so, I can recover from exhaustion.

I was going to relax after I did our laundry.

But my children got up at 6:30am.

They often wake up early in the morning only weekends, but they don't get up even though I wake them up at 7:30am on weekdays!

And they started fighting and my 4-year-old daughter was hit by my 5-year-old son, then she cried and came to me and said, "Mom! He hit me!"

The usual noisy morning has been started.

Too cold day!

My husband and I went to our children's nursery school to attend to the parents day yesterday.

He attended our 5-year-old son's class and I attended our 4-year-old class.

It was so cold yesterday that I had a stomachache during the class.

I could see that my son's class played dodge ball outside.

They looked so cold, especially the parents couldn't stay in one place.

All of them were stamping their feet to keep warm.

I am a member of PTA, so I had a responsibility to stand in front of the entrance of the nursery and secure the safety of the kids and parents who were going home yesterday.

While I was standing outside, I couldn't think of anything because it was too cold.

After I came back home, I went shopping and I bought a choco pie.

I don't know why, but I want to eat chocolate when it is very cold.

I gave way to temptation of "limited time offer" again!

When I got up in this morning, It was snowing!

It rarely snows around here, but it has already piled more than 10cm today!

I am worried that whether I will be able to go to my office or not today.

I don't have studless winter tires!

"Nabe" is one of the good dishes for cold day

It is soooo cold recently.

I want to get warm by"Nabe"(hot pot) on such a cold day, so I made chicken pot two days ago.

After we finished eating the ingredients, I put rice into the hot pan and stewed to extract water for a while.

"Ojiya" was all done after beaten egg is added.

Ojiya” is well flavored by chicken soup.

It was yummy and we could get warm by it!

Her smile makes everybody smile

After our travel I had to do a lot of laundry and had it for 3 times yesterday.

I spent whole day washing our clothings yesterday.

Considering that we visited a tropical country, we have to set another clothing style---- it's hard to visit a country with a different season!

I am going to write another topic related to our Guam experience.

I was surprised at my 4-year-old daughter because she's very expressive and greeted everyone whom she meets by saying HELLO though she only knew hello in English.

She didn't mind about the people she encountered and she's not even aware that people were speaking different language.

Each time she greeted someone by saying "hello", that person will definitely exchanged a smile with her as she's too charming by her way of greeting them.

I was amazed that children's smile will become universal and influence foreigners to also smile.

To me speaking English for the first time made me so nervous but she wasn't.

Even with her bubbly personality and she almost showed her smile to everyone, she once got mad with someone.

The time when we were still at the airport upon check-in, one of the staff called her "baby" and that made her so annoyed.

I told my daughter about it, then suddenly she got angry and said in Japanese,
"I am NOT a baby!"

The airport staff apologized to her and said "Oh, I'm sorry. You're already a big sister, right?" and it seems that she was not satisfied and she looked furious and it made everybody laughed at her funny gesture.
