A wet morning glory with rain

My 6-year-old son got morning glory seeds from school last month.

My 4-year-old daughter and my husband planted them in a flower pot.

The flower of morning glory bloomed for the first time in this morning.

It is rainy season in Japan, and it was also rainning in this morning.

I was impressed to see the wet flower with rain.

It was so beautiful and lovely.

My husband also made a little rice paddy in our garden and planted seeds of rice last month.

His parents are farmer, so he asked them to send seeds and fertilizers for them.

They also sprouted and grew about 10cm.

We might be able to  harvest a bowl of raw rice in autumn.

The day for the announcement of those who passed

I wrote that I took the exam of bookkeeping last Sunday.

(*my last entry → http://a-o-j-m.blogspot.jp/2015/06/their-dream-house.html )

Today is the day for the announcement of those who passed.

Fortunately, I passed the exam!

I could get 99 points out of 100.

I am really glad and feeling the sense of released from studying.

At the same time,  I realize that I need to keep studying not to forget about it.

I think that it is very happy that I have the environment that I can spend time to study something.

Back to my usual days

I finally finished the bookkeeping exam last Sunday.

I marked my answers referring to the answer breaking news which are announced in the websites by each qualification schools.

Maybe I could pass the exam.

The official result will be announced on next Monday, so I have to wait for a while.

Anyway, I had studied it since February so I am pretty confident that I will pass it.

I am so glad that finally I can free myself from studying those bookkeeping lessons.

But it is only a temporary respite for me because I have another things that I should study for my job.

I really want to have time to study English, but just a bit more patience.

My children were playing with Lego blocks together last night.

When they can play together nicely, it is helpful for me because I don't take my time to settle down their fight.

So I usually try not to disturb them when they already enjoyed with what they played.

"Look! We made our house with Lego."

My 4-year-old daughter told me.

The house was bigger than our real house with a dog and a car.

I found it interesting after seeing them built their dream house together.

The meaning of "Itadakimasu"

I bought clams at the supermarket and put them into the salt water at home yesterday.

I was going to make steamed clams with sake.

Then I found that clams were moving more actively than usual.

I wanted to show them to my children, so I called them, "Come on! You will be able to watch clams are moving!"

They came running to me immediately saying "I want to watch them!".

"Wow! They were moving!"

They were excited to watch that one of the clam was splashing water from its mouth.

They watched them for a while, then my 6-year-old son told me seriously.

"Are you going to kill them from now?"

I answered, "Of course. I am going to make steamed clams with sake. You like it very much, don't you?"

He said, "No! I feel sorry for them. I want to raise them!"

My 4-year-old daughter also said,

"Don't kill them, mom. You are cruel!"

I told them,

"They can't live apart from the sea.

You always say "Itadakimasu" before you eat something, don't you?

It means that we are going to eat lives of other living things gratefully.

For example, you like fried  chicken, don't you?

They were also alive before.

So I think we may eat them with thanks, and you will grow bigger."

They were listening to my story seriously.

I don't know whether they could understand our common way of thinking of "Itadakimasu" or not.

They ate clams saying "How delicious they are! How nice!"

I wish that they will be able to eat without likes and dislikes of food and understand my story some day.

The Beach in May!?

Since my 4-year-old daughter told me that she wanted to play in sand of the beach, my children and I went to the beach near my parent's house.

It is getting hotter and hotter recently, it is like summer though it is still at the end of May.

I expected that they would want to play in the sea not only playing in sand, so I told them to wear the swimsuits at home.

Just as I expected, they started to play in the little wave rather than playing in sand.

My 6-year-old son found a polycladida in the shallows and caught it using a bucket.

Since all of us saw it for the first time and nobody knew the name of it, we were curious about it and watching it for a while.

They were absorbed in playing around the beach.

I was able to relax lying on the beach and listening to the sound of the wave.

And it was the first time for me to go to the beach in May because the temperature in May is usually not enough warm to swim.

Isn't this also one of the effects of the global warming?

The only one original pottery in the world

I wrote that we visited my hometown in Golden Week.

(my past entry → http://a-o-j-m.blogspot.jp/2015/05/my-sweet-hometown.html )

We experienced painting underglaze on potteries there.

I chose a mug and my children chose plates.

The mug and plates which finished biscuit firing and glazing were delivered to our house last Tuesday.

The left plate was painted by my 6-year-old son.

His theme was "The Forest at night".

The right one is my 4-year-old daughter's.

She drew "The Fireworks".

And I painted my children on the mug.

They were so glad to see their output and they use them at the mealtime.

My husband told his daughter, " Your plate seems that colors drip on it!"

She argued against him,  "It is a fireworks! How beautiful it is!"

I am drinking coffee using the mug while writing this article.

The mug and plates will become our good memory in the future.

Kid's sumo tournament

My 6-year-old son participated in the kid's sumo tounament yesterday.

He got the flyer from school last month.

When I read it, I told him "Why don't you participated in this tounament? You like sumo very much!"

He likes sumo and he often asks my husband and me to play sumo with him.

He answered, "No, I don't want to. Maybe I will not be able to win."

I said, "Why do you say so before you try? You never know until you try!"

He changed his mind and I applied for participation.

There were many children and family at the venue.

The venue was overflowing with excitement and enthusiasm from the vigor of many children and families.

Children were worn "mawashi"(sumo belt) on the gymnastics pants by staff and took off the T-shirts.

My son lost the first match, but he won the second match!

He didn't look nervous though many people were watching the match.

He was not scared to collide with the opponent.

I was proud of his courage!

Needless to say, I had to play sumo with him many times!

It makes me tired because he was getting stronger and stronger, so I have to play it seriously.
