Hectic day

I usually work until 4pm every day, but it was very busy yesterday because three customers suddenly visited our office before 4pm.

There were three staff including me yesterday, and we had to deal with each of them, so I was not able to leave our office until I finished dealing with the customer.

I finished talking to the customer at 4:55pm, then I called the children's house and the nursery school to inform them that I will be late for picking my children up.

When we came home, it was already 5:50pm.

Since we usually came home about 5pm, it was 50 minutes later than usual.

Since my 7-year-old son goes to Karate practice from 7pm every Friday and we usually leave home about 6:45pm, we had to finish dinner quickly.

Fortunately I already finished making dinner in the early morning, we were able to start dinner soon.

My 5-year-old daughter said:

"Oh no! Is it already dinner time? Can't I eat snack?"

"I am sorry, we came home later than usual. Look at the time, it is already 6pm! You know your brother will go to Karate practice from 7pm, so we have to finish dinner as soon as possible!"

After we finished dinner, my son had to change into Karate's uniform.

I wrote about the Karate uniform in my previous post : Clumsy mom and son

http://a-o-j-m.blogspot.jp/2016/01/clumsy-mom-and-son.html

It is difficult for me to tie the obi (belt), so I always take a long time to finish it.

"Are you alright Mom? Succeed in tying it as soon as possible!"

"Yeah, I am going to do my best!"

He knew I am not good at tying it, I always take more than 10 minutes to finish it.

"Look! I have been able to do it at once! Wow! I am awesome!"

We were able to get to the Karate training hall 5 minutes before the practice began.

After I took him there, my 5-year-old daughter and I went back home.

I had to finish folding the laundry, washing the dishes, spreading futons, and helping her with  music school homework which she goes to every Saturday.

We went back to the training hall at 7:50pm to watch his practice.

They finished training at 8:10pm, then we came home.

While they were watching a little TV, I prepared to take a bath, and prepared the laundry.

After we finished taking a bath, it was already 9:30pm.

We usually go to sleep at 9pm.

My son told me:

"I want to continue to draw the picture of my town which I imagined. What do you think I should add in the town next? Please think about it with me."

"Right now? Oh no! I was hectic and sleepy! I want to go to sleep. You can do it if you want to do, but I am going to sleep now."

"Why ? Why can't I do it?"

He got angry and started crying.

"NO! I am not saying that you can't do it. You can do it but I can't help you. I AM SLEEPY!"

Since he was too noisy even though my daughter was sleeping, I took him to the living room and went back to the bedroom.

After a while, he came back to the bedroom.

He seemed to be satisfied because he drew the picture of the ideal town, he didn't got angry any more.

"Mom, please pat my back."

He said, but I was too sleepy to move my hands any more.

I think I can't become a full time worker without my parents' help.

If I were a full time worker, I could not handle my daily housework and make time for my children.

A lot of mothers can't expect their husband's help because fathers usually come home very late like my husband.

  1. Hello Kumi-san,

Sounds like you had yet another busy day as both a worker and as a mother. Hopefully things will become less hectic for you in the days to come. I am glad you can still find time to keep your writing practice on your blog active.

I have been slowly practicing reading various Kanji and trying to translate various product names in pictures that I have seen from various people I follow on G+. It took me over 20 minutes just to write about a simple translation that I tried to do. So I can appreciate just how hard it must be to find the time to do all the writing you do.

Here is a list of some of the issues found in the post:

    Part 1:

    1. Hello Terry.
I always appriciate you to spare your time for me.
Yes, writing this blog in English takes about an hour for me.
I want to write it more quickly!

Question: By tap do you mean rub or massaging of the back, if so it would be written as:

I am sorry, it was my misunderstanding.

      I mean:

      "Mom, please pat my back."

      Isn't it strange?
