Indefinite complaint

Recently, I can't get rid of my fatigue, I wake up several times at night, and I have several tiny bad physical conditions.

I was not able to sleep well last night because It was hot and humid and my 7-year-old son kicked me several times while sleeping.

But I have an appetite, and I sometimes overeat.

As a result, I gained 3kg, and I feel my body heavy.

One of my co-worker who is 47 years old told me:

"When women turned 40, you will feel under the weather several times."

I am 40 years old now, I really agree with her.

I rarely have opportunity to exercise, so I thought this is because the lack of exercise.

Since I did Yoga before I got married, I searched Yoga video on You Tube and tried one of them for 10 minutes this morning.

But I felt sick after I finished it.

I was disappointed with myself.

Maybe I need to sleep more, not to eat too much, and exercise.

I try to do them little by little.

    Hello Kumi-san,

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with sleeping and other issues. Though it sounds like you know what you need to do to fix the problems and with dedication you will be able to do so.

My solution if I still drank alcohol would be to drink lots of it until I forgot about the passage of the years (and just in case your English studies have not yet covered sarcasm the previous statement was a joke :) ). Temporary solution I will admit but with my body doing exercise is not really an option. The best I can do is always stand when I am at my desk (which is most of the time) and eat less so as not to put weight on. It works but I will say that it is not as fun a solution as Yoga. I do miss sugary things, bread, and chocolates and sugary hot drinks. Luckily I do love rice and vegetables with lot of vinegar on them so I eat that everyday, it really did help me with sleeping and weight loss. The low levels of fat and sugar I take in from rice and vegetables does mean that I can sometimes feel the cold very quickly but if that happens I just put on warm clothing, and for sugary drinks I just replaced them with hot water with 0 calorie sweetener in them and skimmed milk. Which tastes very nice and keeps me warm and has protein in it so is good for me. It also seems to have improved my sleep as well as I am generally able wake up at 5/6am without an alarm clock and am able to make it through to about 10/11pm before I start to feel very tired. Which is just as well as 9 to 11 is when I practice my Kanji and Japanese sentence reading.

So I guess that I should offer thanks (いただきます? ごちそさまでした? right? :) ) to the Japanese diet it keeps me healthy and seems (as far as I am able to tell) to help me sleep.

I didn't sleep well as a child for a lot of reasons but I am sure that the things I ate really had a big impact on things looking back. I just wish I had known that while I was a child I would be in much better physical condition a lot earlier in life had I changed the food I ate to what I eat now.

Luckily I like music and listen to that often while I am standing at my desk and that seems to help (the constant rocking/swaying around while listening probably burns a small insignificant amount of calories but it keeps my spirits up especially if its a Yellow Magic Orchestra/Iggy Pop/Cyndi Lauper/David Bowie song playing). I am slightly embarrased to say that currently playing on my headphone is "MDS - Break The Rules" certainly not a song aimed at someone of my age but I like it:

And obviously learning Japanese is a great way to keep focus and not get distracted by other things such as unhealthy foods. When I rarely and briefly think I would love a chocolate cake and say it's hard then I remember that learning Japanese is a lot harder and even bigger :)

We have a common idiom here "You are as old as you feel" and I always felt about 60 years old when I was aged just 11 :)

Being a member of the 40+ club at least says we did enough things right to make it this far :)

My only advice is try not to let other people pressure you into not doing the things you need to do to get into the physical fitness level that you want to be at. No matter the level so long as you get to the point where you are happy being at, that will be success.

Anyway onto easier things to deal with (if you are an native English person anyway :) :

Here is a list of some of the other issues in the rest of your post:

    Should be:

Reason: "It" does not need capitalizing in the sentence so was changed to "it".
